In the late 1960s, a small air conditioning division of family owned Hardware Thomas Peake and Company Limited began making waves in the local market. After more than five decades in operation, this division has evolved into Peake Technologies Limited – a leader in air conditioning sales and services

Today, under the visionary leadership of Chairman and third generation owner Mr. Paul Peake, the company has six major outlets that are strategically located throughout Trinidad and Tobago. A team of more than 200 highly trained, technical, professional and administrative staff support its nationwide operations. The company’s head office and flagship branch, located in the growing commercial district of Aranguez, San Juan, is the hub of its core operations. This 32,533 square-foot facility is home to its ‘Contracting and Engineering Department’ which handles design, supply and installation of commercial HVAC solutions, its ‘Room Air Conditioning Sales Department’ 23which handles the supply and installation of residential air conditioning equipment, as well as its ‘Service Division’, providing after sales support, preventative maintenance contracts and repair services, including 24/7 emergency call-out, for all types of air conditioning equipment available on the local market. A 26,000 square-foot warehouse facility at this location houses a full inventory of air conditioning equipment, parts, accessories and installation materials under more than 50 brands.

Customer solutions
The company’s current product mix aims to accommodate numerous technical specification requirements at various price points. Kenneth Boodoo, Managing Director of Peake Technologies Limited (PTL) explains: “A core corporate objective is to enable our staff to deliver the right HVAC solutions to any potential buyer within our residential and commercial target markets. As for the residential consumer market, room air conditioning units are consistently in high demand as local temperature and humidity levels continue to increase year to year. We target the lower to middle income residential market segments offering everything from mini-split units to floor ceiling, cassette, portable units and energy saving inverter units under the Midea, Daikin, McQuay and our very own Peake brand.

“Local commercial buyers tend to have more stringent technical requirements which are constantly evolving in line with international trends and standards. Fortunately, our suppliers remain ‘ahead of the game’ when it comes to product innovation and exceeding industry standards. The lines of central cooling equipment we provide for this market segment are fully certified; ranging from direct expansion ducted split/package AC units to air cooled/water cooled chillers, chill-water cassette units, VRF/VRV multi-split systems and ventilation fans under the industry’s leading international brands such as Daikin, Lennox, Ruud, York and Saeg Engineering. We also employ the use of leading-edge technology in design and equipment selection for our commercial HVAC solutions.”

Additionally, Peake Technologies provides automated operations management support to its commercial clientele through Distech Controls’ Building Management Systems for HVAC, with full technical support and after-sales servicing and monitoring. The company provides air conditioning spare parts and accessories for ‘inter-department consumption’, that is, to support its installation and repair operations, as well as for external sale to local air conditioning contractors. The product assortment for accessories and parts includes numerous brands of compressors, thermostats, motors, UV light kits, installation materials and testing equipment, such as Honeywell, Yellow Jacket, Baldor and Copeland.

Through the provision of parts and after-sales preventative maintenance services, the company retains its customers, becoming part of routine up-keep for future years.
